I find myself using this book as my main source for knowing what herbs are safe for horses.  It gives great information on how to use the herbs and what you should use them for.

This herb book is helpful for researching herbs for dogs, cats, and horses.

**Because I am not an herbalist or a nutritionist, I want to make sure that when I use an herb, I am being safe.  Therefore, I use three (3) reputable sources, and if they all share the same information I will use it.

"Be the Advocate Your Dog Needs to Live a Happy, Healthy, Longer Life".  If you are not sure of what the best care for your dog is, this book may help you find, or at least know how to come, to a solution.

This well written book offers valuable information on correct human posture.

For those of you who have had their share of challenges in training a horse for their discipline of choice, this book is a must read.

Why do we ride?  Is it all about the win or is it more about learning as much as you can?  This book gives a completely different perspective and an intuitive sense of what it takes to be a better rider.

This book not only shows why "pulling" your horse into a frame is detrimental to their mental state, it also explains how the skeletal and muscular systems are effected by hyperflexing the neck of the horse.

Builds western saddles that fit the horses better than any saddle I have tried.  Their EquiFlex models have titanium trees which are flexible and therefore move with you and your horse.  This special feature keeps the saddle from "popping" up in the back every time the horse turns or bends.  As a result you stay better connected to your horse and your horses back is less likely to get sore.

Builds a jumping saddle that is accommodating not only to the rider but also to the horse.  They also supply the mattes pads with or without the shims.  The shims allow you to adjust your saddle as your horses back changes (which it will).

Builds an english style saddle that is most common in the endurance and in the dressage worlds.  This saddle supports both the horse and rider.  The unique design of this saddle keeps the weight of the rider from falling into the "pit" behind the shoulder blade.  As a result, the horse does not have to pick the saddle and rider up then go forward, the horse just has to go forward.  I find this saddle to be a valuable tool for horses that are serviceably sound or one that has had an injury that requires them to exert more energy to carry the weakened limb along.

This small company offers used english saddles for sale.

Both companies offer quality herbs for sale.  Ameriherb is more cost effective, but is more difficult to get in touch with especially as a new client.  Mountain Rose Herbs is not only a place to purchase herbs, it is a great resource for both the ancient and current uses of herbs.

The master herbalist of this company has made some very powerful remedies to strengthen and support your horse and dog.  My favorite is for mares that show hormone imbalances.  His Mare Mood formula has stopped the chronic urinating and aggressive kicking as well as making the mares sweet and loving again.

Did you know that psyllium husk is an herb?  Try purchasing it pure from an herb store and feeding 1/8 cup a day for seven (7) days a month.  We have been doing this for some time now and the horses do not seem to have any problem eating it.

I find this company to be the most cost effective for the lotions I most commonly use which are the Derma E Itch Relief Lotion and the Arnica Gel.  I also purchase the L-Glutamine from this company.

If you wish to purchase these items ASAP, then stores like Whole Foods is the best place to look.

To get away from processed grains that have the vitamin and minerals your horses need, try using the platinum performance wellness formula.  What you will save from having to purchase the grain will cover the cost of this product.  My horses have not moved better or looked better since I switched them to this product.

For those of you who can not afford the platinum performance or the grain, try feeding two tablespoons (2 TBLS) of kelp daily.   You can purchase the kelp from an herb store.

I also recommend the Platinum Performance Hoof Support.  It is pure product and it works better than all the other hoof supports out there.  The price may look high, but you only feed 1/2 teaspoon a day.
